Subscription Canceling Event
The Subscription Canceling event triggers if your customer cancels their own subscription from within their Customer Portal, or, if you cancel their subscription manually from a customer's Order Record within Spiffy.
The Subscription Canceling status turns off the auto charge for the next payment, essentially keeping the subscription in an active grace-period through the end of the billing cycle. Once the end of the billing cycle is reached, the subscription will be moved to Canceled status.
This event is most commonly used to trigger internal notifications of customers who are canceling so you can attempt to save the customer . It's also common for this event to trigger a single email, confirming that they will not be charged again.
To cancel a subscription immediately, you will need to view the subscription directly in Stripe, and cancel the subscription in Stripe.
Our Zapier integration allows you to tailor the communication in your followups to include price, product name, the last 4 digits of their CC number, etc.This is possible by setting up Zapier to pass information from Spiffy into custom fields in your CRM, and then using merge fields for those custom fields within your email.
Zapier also enables you to merge in our Card Swap link into your follow up emails, where the user can click and update their billing information right from your email. The Card Swap link is a custom magic link that automatically logs them in to their portal to just add a new card on file.
