How to Charge More on the First Payment Plan Payment
Spiffy gives you the ability to set up a 'Deposit' on your Payment Plan options. Charging a deposit can help cover additional costs, and when you set up a mult-pay Payment Plan option, you will be able to easily set up a deposit.
If you set up a 'Depost' this additional amount will be charged up-front, in addition to the configured monthly payments. Spiffy gives you the option to charge this along with the first payment, or the option to delay the first Payment Plan payment, and only charge the deposit at the time of the order being placed.
If you aren't familiar with how to set up Payment Plans in the Spiffy Checkout Editor, please take a look at our Setting Up Payment Plans Overview first.
To get started, you will need to have a Payment Plan option configured for more than 1 payment:
Click the 'Collect Deposit' button:
Enter a Deposit Amount:
If you want to collect the additional deposit along with the first payment, just click 'Save' at the top of the Payment Plan configuration, and when you are ready, 'Publish' the checkout to have your changes take effect.
If you would like to delay the first payment, and ONLY collect the deposit, click the 'Add Custom Delay (after deposit) button and enter the number of days you would like to delay the first Payment Plan Payment.
Once you have finished setting up your deposit, just 'Save' the Payment Plan configuration, and when you are ready, just 'Publish' your checkout!
