FAQ

Does Spiffy Support Apple Pay?

Yes, we support Apple Pay as a payment option on all Spiffy Checkouts by default.

There is no additional setup needed to get started. All you need to do is connect your Stripe and Apple Pay will be activated!

With the iOS 16 update, Apple Pay is now also supported in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox – not just Safari. This means Apple Pay will be a supported payment method in more scenarios than in the past.

When a Spiffy Checkout is viewed in a scenario where Apple Pay is supported, Apple Pay will be automatically selected by default when the Checkout loads. This is designed to streamline the checkout experience and increase conversions. Your customer will still see other payment method options, so they can also choose to checkout via a different payment method if they wish.

When selected, the Apple “Pay” button will replace the ‘Complete Checkout’ button. When the Apple Pay button is clicked, your customer will see prompts from Apple Pay on their device to verify and select a card on file to use for their payment. Apple Pay contact details will not overwrite customer information that was entered on the Checkout. Apple Pay is only used to streamline payment.

Note:
Due to current limitations of Apple Pay, Apple Pay is not compatible with embedded checkouts. Apple Pay will only display as a payment option on Spiffy-hosted checkouts. This is not a limitation of Spiffy as a platform, it is a limitation of Apple Pay in general.

Here is a quick look at how the Apple Pay option will look on a checkout that is viewed from an Apple device:
